Pat's Sew Right

Our Story

Pat's Sew Right was established in 2017 with one mission: to bring a reliable, high quality Alteration & Clothing Repair Shop to Michigan. Our passion for excellence is what inspired us to set up shop, all our repairs were completed with meticulous detail, resulting in a product that was as good as new.

The physical shop had to close, June 30th 2023, due to poor enforcement of Michigan's environmental and health laws. Contending with black lead filled water in our first location, the issue was solved by moving. Then toxic air in the new location. For both not wanting customer's garments to be soiled and the health of both workers and clients the decision was to permanently close the service of alterations and repairs until Michigan do it's due diligence in protecting it's residences.

The owner of Pat's Sew Right, Pat, hails from Canada bringing with her over 25 years of sewing experience. Taught professional sewing through an apprenticeship with Europeans, she carries with her the old world sewing techniques. Expanding her know-how she was educated in Technical Theatre Production giving her an Associate's degree in Garment history, Furniture construction and Costume design.

Teaching and sharing the knowledge of the fiber arts has been a long time passion for Pat. With that in mind even though our brick and mortar store is gone and not excepting alterations you can receive the best of experiences in private sewing lessons with Pat.
